The challenge
Leeds Bradford Airport is the hub for over 70 destinations. From UK getaways to popular European hotspots and beyond. Following the announcement of a fantastic schedule, we wanted to showcase the number and range of destinations available on Yorkshire's doorstep.
The approach
Leeds Train Station welcomes over 30 million commuters per year, with many travelling to competitor airports for their holidays. This is why this space was chosen as the OOH advertising hub for our latest campaign: Yorkshire's gateway.
The creative
With the unusual placement of the entry ticket barriers, which had just undergone refurbishment, we took the opportunity to play on the theme of 'Yorkshire's gateway'. With over 70 barriers, we were able to show every destination. Alongside the physical advertising, we followed up with a series of paid social media advertising, targeting the Leeds area. In addition, we created an Instagram filter to share across organic social that gave each user a destination to add to their 'bucket list'.
The outcome
This campaign reached millions and delighted not only tour operators of the listed destinations but also airlines, on-site airport concessions and the wider team.
