The challenge
Yorkshire is well-known for its hospitable nature. But, when it comes to weddings and events, things need to be taken one step further. Here's everything I did to unveil these three luxurious venues to the wedding market.
The approach
Every event planner begins somewhere. Unfortunately for me, it's not always from the same place. That's why a multi-faceted approach is key to gaining your lion's share of the market. It's not like there are thousands, and thouasnds, and thousands of other venues around these parts, after all...
Anyway, with that looming fact in mind, I focused attention to our 'owned' leads with a series of web, email and social content. Then, I pivoted towards the easy grabs. On-site wedding open days and local PR. Then, the big ones. Off-site wedding shows and bigger PR features in bridal magazines. Unsuprisingly, when you're close to home it's weasy to talk about your venue, because everyone knows it. But, when you're stacked back to back with some of the country's finest, it gets a little tricker to stand out from the crowd.
The creative
I wanted to bring these wedding venues to life, and that's exactly what happened! After consulting with all our suppliers, I took our best aisle image and expanded the space with props and pieces to bring more depth to the space. This complemented all the previous work I had done with engaging handouts, press releases and digital content.
The outcome
In a saturated market, it was clear to see the uplift that this activity had on enquiries, venue showings and, ultimately, bookings.
